Exhibitions and events

One of the Mardjani Foundation’s major areas of activity is pursuing independent and inter-museum exhibition projects related to Muslim regions’ art. In recent years the Foundation partnered the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Hermitage Museum, the Russian Museum, the State Museum of Oriental Art, the State Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, the Central House of Artist, Kazan Kremlin, Hermitage-Kazan Exhibition Center, Republic of Tatarstan Museum of Fine Arts, Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Exhibitions organized by the Foundation also took place in museums of Yelabuga, Izhevsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Astana, Dushanbe, Tashkent and other towns. 

The Mardjani Foundation organized and took part in a number of exhibitions. The largest ones among them are as follows: “Classical Art of Islamic World: IX to XIX centuries. Ninety-nine Names

of God» (Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow, 2013), “A Gift to Contemplators. Ibn Battuta’s Travels” (State Hermitage, St. Petersburg, 2015), “Ibn Fadlan’s Journey: Volga route from Baghdad to Bulghar” (Kazan Kremlin Museum, Hermitage Kazan Center, 2015-2016), “Kings and Pawns. Board Games from India to Spain” (Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, 2014), "THE CONSTELLATION OF ABSHERON. AZERBAIJANI ARTISTS OF THE 1960 TO 1980S" (The Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, 2016).
